Woman Fourth Time Drug Offender Fined $4,800

Bandar Seri Begawan - A 22-year-old woman was fined $4,800 when she pleaded guilty to three charges of consumption of Syabu and one charge of possessing the class A controlled drug yesterday in the Magistrates Court.

According to the NCB prosecuting officer, Dayang Masni was apprehended once at Kg Bolkiah B with nine other people in the first charge of consumption, while for the second charge of being in possession of Methylamphetamine, she was arrested at Kg Sumbiling Lama.

She was also caught at the same address again and was charged with consumption of the same drug for the third time. Her fourth charge was also for consumption of the class A drug but this time she was arrested in a boat accompanied by three men at Perairan Sungai Butir, Brunei.

The Senior Magistrate ordered for her to be jailed for nine months if she failed to pay the fine.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
