Wrapping around the Kain Samping

The wearing of the traditional clothes by the general populace is very striking specially to visitors. Malay men wear colourful cara Melayu (Malay fashion) attire, complete with kain samping (wrap around), as well as songkok (traditional cap), during weddings and Friday prayers in mosques, or on formal functions . The wrap around cloth is woven with silver or gold thread.
