Five remanded over attack on man

Five men were remanded at the Central
Police Station for a week commencing yesterday until the next mention
date on May 19 of their case pertaining to causing hurt to a
35-years-old Chinese man. Besides the five men, the police are
searching for fifteen more men, who were allegedly involved in this
case, said Prosecuting Officer Dk Hjh Hana Molina yesterday.
All of them allegedly committed the
offence on or about March 15 this year at a restaurant in Menglait.
They face a charge of being a member
of an unlawful assembly and causing hurt to the victim.
The offence is punishable under
Section 147 of the Penal Code, Chapter 22, which provides for a
penalty of imprisonment extended to 5 years and a fine.
