People In Labi Wants More Housing
Schemes
Kuala Belait - The people in Kampong Labi
in the remote Belait District want more housing and additional staff
at their clinic.
The Belait District Officer Awang
Adnan bin Haji Hanafiah assured them the government continues to
provide basic amenities to villagers in remote areas and they are
never forgotten.
He was speaking during a gathering
between various government agencies and residents of Kampong Labi
yesterday.
Awang Adnan who also chaired the
gathering, which carries the theme 'Penimpin Bersama Rakyat', told the
villagers that the government has allocated a large sum of money for
development projects throughout the sultanate including for the rural
areas.
He said the implementation of these
projects, which include the construction of roads and the housing
development, the agriculture and fisheries sector will be carried out
by relevant government agencies.
At this gathering, penghulus, village
chiefs and their residents aired their problems.
They also requested the government to
implement housing scheme at Kampong Labi and the need for additional
staff at the Labi Clinic.
Among those in attendance were senior
officials from a number of government agencies.
