Trust And Confidence Key To Cooperative Success, Says Official 

Bandar Seri Begawan - The success of a cooperative depends on the cooperation among parties involved and based on mutual trust.

Trust not only in running the cooperative but more importantly the confidence that the cooperative can exist, develop and flourish in the competitive business world, is the key.

The Minister of Health, Pehin Dato Haji Awang Abu Bakar underlined this at the official opening of the Ministry of Health Sport and Social Welfare Corporative Body Sdn Bhd's building yesterday.

The minister said that the above points were factors that could assist in the success of a corporative.

The Ministry of Health Sport and Social Welfare Corporative Body was formed in December 1996 with its main objective to bring socio-economic improvement to its members.

Currently it has 751 members with the collective share totalling $1,304,950.

The cooperative, which began by selling of food and drinks now has branches in the Tutong And Belait districts.

At the RIPAS Hospital, the corporative is managing a cafeteria, two shops, an office and meeting room. The cost of the building was $670,000.  -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
