Cleanliness Is All Says Director General

Bandar Seri Begawan - Cleanliness is synonymous with health. As public institution responsible for health, certainly the Ministry of Health should be the role model for other institutions, Dr Haji Affandy Medical Services Directory General said yesterday.

In fact the ministry should be the front-liner when health issues are being focussed on, he added.

He brought up the matter at the launching of the cleaning campaign organised by the ministry yesterday morning.

Dr Haji Affandy said that as an institution that provides services to the public, the ministry must always be aware of the public's expectation apart from giving them a better medical services which is clean, comfortable and a warm hospital environment.

To mark the launching, the Minister of Health Pehin Dato Awang Haji Abu Bakar planted a tree near the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.

The cleaning campaign was held concurrently at hospitals, health clinics and centres nationwide. 

RIPAS Hospital was chosen as the focal point for the campaign because of its strategic location and wide areas.

As was stressed in the director-general's speech, public's positive expectation on the level of cleanliness should be uphold and maintained.

Complaints from patients pertaining to this matter must be made as the yardsticks in measuring the level of claeliness and the public's satisfaction as clients.  -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
