Labour Meeting In Mataram Agree On
Cooperation
Bandar Seri Begawan - Asian Labour Ministers with their three
dialogue partners, the Peoples Republic of China, Japan and the
Republic of Korea have agreed to further enhance the existing
cooperation in labour and to facilitate the implementation of the work
programmes in facing the ever challenging globalised economy.
The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs,
Dato Awang Haji Adanan on his return home, stated this after attending
the 17th Asean Labour Ministers meeting in Mataram.
He said the Asean Labour Ministers
also discussed on the Asean main projects focusing on the industrial
relations, human resources development, and the skill recognition
system.
The 17th Asean Labour Ministers
meeting also deliberated on the progress of prioritised labour related
projects under the Asian Labour Ministers' work programme for years
2001 to 2005.
The meeting agreed that Brunei would
host the 18th Asian Labour Ministers meeting next year.
The Asian Labour Ministers also
touched on the impact of Sars on labour related issues. --
