Buying a cake for Mother's Day 

Whatever nationality we may be, it appears that all Bruneians have realised the importance of showing our appreciation for our mothers today. The build-up for this important day every year can be seen as business in bakery shops all over Brunei, especially those in the capital, went into a frenzy in preparation for this special Sunday.

A cake house manager in Kiulap said the orders for Mother's Day cakes range from the lightweight 1 pound to the heavy 4 pounds. Almost all the flavours are sold out, from the simple vanilla and pandan to the more exclusive ice-cream and filling cakes. Business is brisk although the prices range from B$12 to $18 a pound.

Restaurants and other eating places at strategic locations in the capital are also fully booked for today.
