Youngster, repeat offender charged
for theft

A youngster was ordered to be
remanded to further investigations after he was arrested and charged
with committing theft yesterday by the Magistrates' Court. According
to DPP Pg Isa Pg Hj Aliuddin, Md Amirul was an alleged accomplice of
five other youngsters and a 22 year-old man who were brought to the
courthouse Thursday for theft charges. The cases were to be
consolidated as ordered by the Magistrates' Court.
All of them are facing the same
charge of having stolen two watches and a mobile phone on the same
occasion.
Md Amirul will be brought to the
courthouse again with the six others on May 15 for further mention of
the case. It was learnt that Md Amirul was alleged to have also been
involved in 13 other cases.
Meanwhile, a 20 year-old man was sent
to prison for 3 months yesterday by the Magistrates' Court, after he
pleaded guilty to committing theft at Delima Jaya Complex in Jalan
Muara.
According to the prosecution carried
out by DPP Hjh Najwa, Raziman Ramli has four previous convictions
dating back to 1998, when he was released on a bond for good behaviour
for all four. He was also fined in 2001 for a Road Traffic offence.
