Like other disciplined personnel, a
new batch of police recruits was urged to avoid getting involved in
any undesirable acts, such as the misuse of drugs and criminal
activities. This was stressed yesterday by the Commissioner of Police,
Dato Paduka Seri Awg Hj Abd Rahman Hj Johan, chief guest at the
passing-out parade for the 120 intakes.
"Insecure situations in and
outside the country at the present time have become the main concerns
faced by us. Such challenges should not only be faced with
sophisticated equipment but more importantly, our mental and physical
strengths."
"To ensure that every police
personnel is ready to face any situation, it is crucial that
cooperation is established in carrying out duties and responsibilities
of defending people in the country", he added.
A total of 159 recruits began their
basic training since November 8, 2002 at the training centre of the
Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
They completed the course last May 9.
The passing-out parade also coincided
with the presentation of prizes to best recruit, best shooter, best
recruit in physical exercise and best instructor (trainer).
