Premier Automobiles Sdn Bhd which has
just recorded its best monthly sales of 50 Ford units last month, is
launching its latest addition to the Ford diesel line-up - the new
Mondeo TDCi. Exemplifying Ford driving quality, the new Ford Mondeo is
ready to redefine contemporary diesel driving quality with the new
Duratorq Turbo Diesel Direct injection 2.0-litre engine for 5-door
station wagon and Duratoq Turbo Diesel Common-rail injection 2.0-litre
engine for 4-door Sedan.
Smooth, powerful and quiet, the
16-valve Duratoq TDCi adds to Ford's diesel line-up since the launch
of the Focus TDDi 1.8L in February.
"The success of the Focus TDDi
had prompted us to follow suit by offering customers another diesel
option - in the C/D segment and with a bigger 2.0L engine capacity.
The new Mondeo TDCi will be more appealing to buyers who seek
refinement and performance, but with the economy and durability of a
diesel engine," said Teng Chee Khiong, Director of Premier
Automobiles.
"Ford engineers concentrated on
delivering refined power in this vehicle. The specifically-tailored
gear ratios provide refined and easy acceleration in gear, which makes
the Mondeo TDCi a joy to drive," added Teng.
In August of 2001, the Mondeo DOHC
Duratec-HE 2.0L petrol engine was first launched in Brunei and has
continued to be immensely popular with customers, Teng said, "To
date, we have sold more than 200 Mondeos and we are confident this
figure will increase with the new Mondeo TDCi.
Available in five-speed manual
transmission, the new Mondeo TDCi offers great value at $27,982 (OTR)
for 4-door sedan and $29,739 (OTR) for 5-door wagon.
The Mondeo TDCi is strong, safe and
secure. The new Intelligent Protection System (IPS) is a standard
feature comprising a suite of integrated passive safety technologies
designed to adapt to different body profiles.
The machine also features Anti-Lock
Braking System (ABS) and electronic brake-force distribution (EBS) to
maximise handling and stability, as well as advance PATS Immobiliser
system for added security.
The economical Duratorq TDCi 2.0L
engine offers 90PS, and achieves a peak torque output of 245Nm at
1,900 rpm.
Ford Mondeo remains a class-leader
for safety, technology and superior driving quality.
The car has won a string of
accolades, namely, the prestigious What Car? Magazine's Car of the
Year, BBC Top Gear's Car of the Year, Auto Express' Auto One Award,
and 2001 Car of the Year Award from Singapore's Wheels Asia magazine.
The popularity of the Mondeo TDCi has
also led to awards, including the "Diesel Car of the Year"
at the 2003 Fleet Excellence Awards in the United Kingdom.
