Local Music To Be Developed Among The Young 

Bandar Seri Begawan - There are a number of potentially talented people in the country in the field of music.

This is evident in the number of contestants taking part in musical competitions held locally.

But sad to say, after competing, the participants could not further develop their talents.

With the formation of the National Young Orchestra, it is hoped that it could combined all these talents and be given training and guidance in the musical field.

Since children nowadays are widely exposed to alien musical instruments unlike the traditional Bruneian equipments, it is timely that they should be familiar with local instruments.

A facilitator, Dr Kamaruddin Haji Ahmad explained more on the workshop.

He explained on instruments being taught at the workshop and encouraged youngsters to optimise their potential.

Another facilitator, Awang Badaruddin bin Sham stressed that the aim of the workshop is to make participants understand better about musical instruments.  -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
