Speaking of technology
By James Kon
One of the most essential aspects of
any retail operating system is up-to-date technology on retail and
office equipment, in order to facilitate promotion as well as save
cost in a long run. Aliaa Label & Stucker Sdn Bhd recently
introduced to the market a new Casio cash register, Casio QT-2100,
that has a multi-cluster tracking system and a ram size of between 4
and 8 MB.
It is also capable of credit card
verification and automatic assignment of discount rate. Additional
features include a barcode reader, automatic consolidation sale data,
and perhaps most importantly, a data-saving compact flash card.
One of the advantages of implementing
such system is time saved from producing daily sale reports.
Since it is linked to the back office
computer, the system allows new information to be sent to the cash
register almost instantaneously.
Other new machines available at Aliaa
are CasioTE-100, Casio TK-T200, Casio TE-2000 and CE 7000; these items
come with hand-held laser scanner and possess up to 65,000 PLUs with
stock control.
