Exposing students to the
different areas available in various work industries can be helpful to
college students, enabling them to view various occupations and
providing them with basic ideas for planning their future career.
Around 22 Lower Sixth Form students
from 'Kelab Wawasan 2003', Maktab Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee
Billah visited the Amigos Café at the Royal Brunei Recreation Club (RBRC)
in Berakas.
The Acting Assistant Manager of
Public Relations, Publications & Advertising of Royal Brunei
Catering (RBC), Ivy Chong welcomed the entourage and gave them an
overview of the F&B demonstrations to be carried out by the staff
of RBC.
The first demonstration planned for
the students was a cooking demonstration by RBC Junior Sous Chef
Johari bin Abd Hamid, assisted by Executive F&B Sous Chef Ivan
Chua, who briefed the students on the cooking presentation for Beef
Thai Salad & Spaghetti Napolitane.
During the whole demonstration the
students were able to ask a few questions regarding some cooking
techniques as well as on a career in the F&B sector.
Also featured in the one-day
programme was the napkin folding demonstration - which the students
quickly caught on - and a demonstration on table-setting by the RBC
staff.
Royal Brunei Catering operates
several restaurants all over Brunei, namely The Airport Restaurant,
Seasons Restaurant, Dynasty Restaurant, Poolside Terrace, Emperor's
Court, Amigos Café as well as Express Fast Food Restaurant.
