Join Us, Say Brunei Firemen To Unemployed Youths

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Fire Services Department hopes more jobseekers will choose a career as a fireman or firewoman.

The registration for the new intake of firemen and women begun last Thursday and will end on May 13.

The registration is open from 8 till 11 in the morning and from 1.30 till 4 in the afternoon. It is held at the headquarters of the Fire Services Department in Berakas.

The applicants should at least have the lower secondary examination. They must be aged between 18 and 28 and should pass the physical fitness test.

Several applicants said they chose a career with the fire services because the job was very challenging. Family support helped.

Last year, more than 2,000 people applied for job. From that number, 49 including 12 women were selected.
