‘Brunei In History' arts contest
& exhibition
By Huraizah Ahmad
Arts exhibitions and contests are
continually held to encourage artists in Brunei to share their talents
and creativity. This motivates others to gather more knowledge and
appreciate any form of arts. The Brunei Arts & Handicrafts
Training Centre is organising the 'Brunei In History' Arts Contest
& Exhibition in conjunction with the 19th Brunei National Day 2003
celebration.
The aim of the contest and exhibition
is to encourage artists to create and contribute their arts creativity
in the form of the history of Brunei as well as to enhance their
artistic creativity, expertise and talents.
The competition is only open to
Bruneians and permanent residents of Brunei, and must be at least 16
years old.
Only two art entries are accepted per
applicant which have been produced from the year 2001 to 2003 and
applicants who have previously won arts contests held in Brunei or
overseas are not accepted.
Entries should also be based on the
concept of history of Brunei and all art entries are to measure not
more than 4' x 6'.
First prize for the competition will
be in the cash amount of BND$1,000, second prize BND$750 and third
prize BND$500.
