Aid Boxes Forced Open In Mosque
By Rahmat Hj Abdul Rahman
Tutong - Two safety boxes that carried cash
meant for the Humanitarian Aid for the Cambodian Islamic Society were
ransacked early Sunday morning inside Kampong Bukit Panggal Mosque.
According to one of the mosque officials, the incident was only
discovered before the dawn (Subuh) prayer yesterday when some of the
people turned up for the prayer. The official, who wished to remain
anonymous, said the missing cash was part of the collection from the
mass Friday Prayer, which was not yet counted by the mosque officials.
The Tutong Police Station, when
contacted by the Bulletin, confirmed the incident, adding that the two
boxes were found forced open by some irresponsible elements using
heavy tools.
The police said that finger print
samples had been collected at the crime scene to assist them in
solving the case.
