Two Become Champs In National
Quran Contest
Kuala Belait –
Awang Mohammad Norazri bin Abdul Mustafa and Dayang Maisarah binti
Haji Mohamad Naim emerged champions in the National Level of the Al-Quran
Reading Competition for the Religious, Pioneer and Arabic schools
yesterday.
Fourteen students representing
religious schools in the country took part.
The boys' category was won by Awang
Mohammad Nurazri bin Abdul Mustafa from the Pengiran Muda Abdul Azim
Religious School in Kampong Serasa.
While, Dayang Maisarah binti Haji
Mohammad Naim from the Sungai Liang Religious school clinched the
girl's title.
Awang
Mohammad Nurazri, expressed his happiness for being successful in the
contest. He said he learned Al-Quran from his parents and teachers.
The winning girl, Dayang Maisarah
explained that she made several preparations in facing the contest.
She also spoke on her understanding
of the interpretation of the verses of the Al-Quran that she recited.
The Head of the Al-Quran Section at
the Ministry of Education Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohamad Jamil
presented the prizes.
The contest took place at the Sungai
