Story telling contest at Bakti

The winners of the contest
Twelve students yesterday afternoon
showed off their talent in a story telling contest which took place at
the Bakti Dewa School at Sungai Akar Branch.
The competition was aimed to select
best students to represent the school in a private schools story
telling competition, with its final to be held this June. Present as
the guest of honour was Awg Hj Abu Bakar bin Haji Zainal, the Deputy
Director of Language and Literature Beureau at the Ministry of Youth,
Culture and Sports.
"Today we will be able to observe the
students' talent and this is a great opportunity for them to act and
telling their own stories. The objective of this competition is to
develop students' reading habit and to enhance their talents in
memorising stories," address Pg Hj Mohd Hassan bin Pg Hj Zainal, the
Public Relations Officer of the School.
With the story "Tumbelina",
Nurhidayati bte Tejuddin from Grade 5A was the winner this year. The
other two winners were Nurfahana bte Hj Awg Ahmad from Grade 5B with
her story, "Sutera Puteh and Cempaka", and Grade 5A student, Dk Nisa
Aqilah bte Pg Mat Rais with the story, "Nakhoda Manis". All the
winners received their prizes and awards from the guest of honour who
then received souvenir from the school.
