Police To Probe Brunei Lawyer on Woman Bashing

Bandar Seri Begawan - A woman was rushed to the RIPAS Hospital this week suffering from severe bruises after a lawyer allegedly assaulted her.

"Her face was black and blue all over. She was in severe pain," said a hospital source.

The woman has entered a police report.

Medical people are trying to establish whether she suffered ruptured eardrums.

If that is the case the man who assaulted her would be facing more serious charges.

If there is damaged eardrum the man could be charged for causing grievous hurt, which carries up to five years jail.

Police sources also said that there is at least one other police investigation against the man.

The assailant is believed to be a local lawyer who was allegedly having a lover's quarrel with the complainant.
