Makfina Restaurant specialises in
Indian cuisine, said Saffideen Aly bin Zegabar Aly, the manager, but
do serve a bit of Malay and Chinese food as well.
Customers love the 'tandoori
chicken', 'vegetable masala' and 'nasi briyani'. The most famous dish
on the menu, is 'topi dosai', which looks like a hat and is served
with sauces.
The Indian vegetarian dishes are 'aloo
gobi', potato and cauliflower curry, 'green peas masala', 'aloo masala'
potato curry, brinjal masala and mixed vegetables masala.
In the meat section, the cooks
prepare the Indian butter chicken masala, 'chicken do piaza', 'chicken
vindaloo', 'tandoori chicken', prawn masala, fish deega and fish
masala.
Makfina Restaurant also offers bread
including Ceylon parata, murtabak, chapati, naan, butter naan, garlic
naan, paper roll dosai, uttappam, poori, vadai.
Asian meals include like nasi lemak,
mee goreng, seafood mee hoon, soto mee and for the snacks the 'roti
kawin' and 'roti kuning kawin' are also available.
The Indian food is prepared by the
head chef from India, who takes charge of the kitchen with five other
cooks and kitchen helpers. An Indonesian cook specialises in cooking
the Chinese meals.
The restaurant which is situated at
Warisan Complex, Kg Menglait in Gadong, has 11 Filipino and Indonesian
waitresses.
