Go-kart racers show their skills

Rosli, 15 had once again demonstrated his talent and skill to be
Brunei Darussalam's best bet for a successful international go-kart
racer as well as formula 1 driver when he emerged champion in National
B at the first league of the ABW Karting Series 2003.
The karting league, jointly organised
by ABW Karting and VIICOOL will continue with the second round to be
held at the Jerudong Park and Country Club, Jerudong on May 25.
The final league which will determine
the overall champions in National A and National B will be held at the
car park area of Tutong Community Hall on August 3.
Muhd Hamzah showed his kart racing
powers when he emerged as the champion of National B held at OGDC
Seria last April 27. The event was officiated by the Deputy Managing
Director of Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd, Hj Zainal Abidin
Hj Ali.
A total of 30 competitors
participated in both categories of the latest local go-kart league
including 4 go-kart racers from the neighbouring town of Miri.
The April 27 race also saw Hj Harith
Pehin Hj Abd Aziz winning the National A league while Amirul Sanip
came second. Amirul also came second at the Labuan Go-Kart Challenge
2003 held at the Labuan International Water Sports Complex, Tanjung
Purun last March.
Third in the National A league was Md
Diauddin Hj Md Daud while Mohd Rafiee Junaidi came in fourth and
Ezuriman Abd Rahman, fifth.
Apart from Muhd Hamzah coming through
as champion of the National B league, Mohd Firdaus Hj Besar was
second, Mohd Rithauddin Hj Ramli third, Pg Fadzil Pg Hj Besar fourth
and Nelson Wong from Miri fifth.
The National A league winner Hj
Harith received a trophy, a hamper and one-night complimentary stay at
the Riviera Hotel.
Muhd Hamzah by virtue of winning the
first league of National B league won a trophy, a hamper and
complimentary lunch for two at the Riviera Hotel.
Racers who came second, third, fourth
and fifth in both categories also won a trophy and a hamper
respectively.
