Users in a fix over suspect health
products

Some buyers are asking for a refund for unused portions
Users of pharmaceutical products
listed by the Ministry of Health as having serious manufacturing
breaches have been trying to get refund for unused portions from their
local pharmacies yesterday.
However, the pharmacies told them to
wait for another day until they obtain clarification from their
suppliers.
"We were also being told to wait
until Saturday by our suppliers because they need further
clarification from their regional distributors as well as from the
Ministry of Health.
"We also need to return the
listed products," they said.
The recalled products were those
manufactured by the Pan Pharmaceuticals of Australia and retailers
here said they were not sure if the listed products they were selling
were actually manufactured by the Australian company.
However, they said their local
distributor advised them to remove all the listed products from the
shelves until they obtain further clarification from their regional
distributor as well as the Ministry of Health today (Saturday).
They said their suppliers had told
them to hang on for another day until they obtain more details.
"The whole incident had been
very unfortunate. The listed products were very popular and had been
very saleable," said another pharmacy.
A user said he was not sure what to
do with some of the listed products in his hands now.
"After I saw in the papers that
the products had been recalled, I rushed to my pharmacy," he
said.
He added that if the products were
indeed manufactured by the Australian firm, the pharmacies must return
buyers' money for the unused portions.
"I am not sure what the
long-term effects are for people who had consumed the listed products
for years," another user said.
