Imams call to help Iraqis
By Malai Hassan Othman
Mosque leaders yesterday called on
Muslim followers here to come forward to help their Muslim brethren in
Iraq who are facing great difficulties. "We as followers of the
same faith are all brothers in Islam. Therefore as brothers we could
not help but feel the pain our innocent Muslim brothers in Iraq are
now experiencing.
"Their nation has been destroyed
and their economy is now in ruin," said the Imams in their Friday
sermon.
"We therefore must come forward
and give donations to ease their sufferings," urged the mosque
leaders.
The Imams said donation boxes are now
being placed in all mosques and suraus in the country as an effort to
raise money to help the innocent Iraqis.
They said other initiatives are also
being taken nationwide for the same noble purpose.
