Shortly after bagging awards or being
nominated at the recent Anugerah Industri Muzik (AIM 2003) in Kuala
Lumpur, three current top artistes and a rock group have agreed to
perform in a combined concert here at the end of the month.
AIM 2003 acknowledged Siti Sarah as
'Best Female Vocalist', Yasin for 'Best Selling Nasyid album', while
Misah was nominated for 'Best female vocalist' and Def-Gab-C as 'Best
Rock Group'.
The artistes will perform for the 'Konsert
Sensasi 2003' scheduled to be held at the JPCC Amphitheatre in
Jerudong on May 31, at 8.30 pm.
The organiser said they grabbed the
opportunity to contact the artistes shortly after they had won the
coveted honours and nominations in Malaysia.
"It was hard work because the
artistes and group commanded a big demand for concerts and
performances. We are lucky partly because they have never performed
for the public in Brunei Darussalam and this made them more than eager
to come," a spokesperson said.
The sensational concert - organised
by ZA ZI Entertainment and backed by experienced concert coordinators
- will feature the three top artistes and group live on stage, thanks
to top local musicians who will group together to provide the backing
band for the artistes.
In addition, local group Starlight -
who currently performs at Coco Beats Café every Saturday night - will
make a guest appearance at the concert.
Tickets are priced at $15, $20, $25
and $30 and can be purchased at G-07, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal
Bolkiah Complex in the capital, Restaurant Dayang, Kompleks Perusahaan
Beribu, Gadong, Restaurant Hijau Budiman, Hotel Koperasi, Seria, Nasem
Café, Jalan Pandan 4, Kuala Belait and Coco Beats Café at CIRC,
Simpang 15, Old Airport, JKR Complex, Berakas.
Tickets will also be available at the
entrance of the JPCC Amphitheatre on the night of the concert.
It was learnt that a total of 28
songs, including two from the guest group, will be performed during
the concert.
"We feel this is the only
concert that provides good value for money.
Our hotline numbers - 2233516,
2455625, 8746328, 8755357 and 8760104 - are already jammed with calls
from inquisitive fans," said a spokesperson, adding that fans can
tune in to Radio Kristal for the latest news on the concert.
