The Municipal Board has taken a bold
step by not allowing participants from (Severe Acute Respiratory
Syndrome) SARS-affected and high risk countries to take part in the
international charity sale to collect funds for the Cambodian Muslims
which began yesterday.
However, such a move nearly caused
the sale to be postponed or cancelled. Chairman of the Municipal
Board, Awg Hj Saji Hj Mudin, disclosed this at the opening of the
10-day international charity sale yesterday.
Awg Hj Saji also called for business
entrepreneurs who operate at the Municipal Board vicinity to step up
their efforts. He also urged them to offer goods that are popular
among buyers at affordable prices. In addition, he also reiterated on
the need for business entrepreneurs to arrange their products in an
attractive manner to attract buyers. The sale is carried out in answer
to a call made by the government that has set up several funds in the
past few weeks including the fund for Muslims in Cambodia.
