Ministry of Health clarifies
In reference to the Borneo Bulletin
article dated May 1, 2003, on Page 3 with the headline '14 SARS
suspects under health watch', it should read as '14 people still under
active surveillance for SARS'. Dr Pg Haji Hishamuddin, a Medical
Officer from the Disease Control Unit said, "Surveillance cases
means cases have either fever or respiratory symptoms and travel to an
affected area but do not fulfill the full criteria for suspect or
probable cases for SARS as defined by the World Health Organisation".
