It is Into The Pacific Ocean Not Brunei Say Italians

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Central Operation Centre Monitoring the re-entry to earth of the Italian Satellite, Beppo-Sax, has received confirmation from the Italian authority that debris from the disintegrated satellite have fallen into the Pacific Ocean at six minutes past six this morning Brunei time.

The Central Operations Centre Monitoring the re-entry to earth of the Italian Satellite was set up in Brunei following initial reports of the possibility of fragments from the satellite falling on Brunei.

Reports received from Italy said that the area where the debris had fallen is identified to be between latitude zero degree north and latitude four degrees north, some 400 kilometres from the Galapagos Islands.

As such, members of the public are informed that the hotline of the operations centre has ceased to function.

The Ministry Of Communication as the leading coordinating agency as well as other related government agencies in the country coordinated the Central Operations Centre.
