Brunei On Alert Against Sars
Bangkok -
People in Brunei have been sternly warned to keep up their vigil
against Sars epidemic.
And His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal
Bolkiah in his speech said although Brunei is free from the Severe
Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), the government had put in place
measures to overcome the problem.
His Majesty delivered his speech at
the Special Asean Leaders' Meeting on Sars in Bangkok on Tuesday.
His Majesty left Bangkok for Brunei
yesterday after attending the Special Asean-China Leaders' Meeting.
Before departure, a Doa Selamat was
read by the State Mufti Pehin Dato Awang Haji Abdul Aziz.
Present at the Bangkok's Don Muang
International Airport to bid farewell to His Majesty were Thailand's
Deputy Prime Minister Korn Dabbaransi and other Thai officials.
Also present were the Thai Ambassador
to Brunei Lt Sunthon Niyomyath, Brunei's Ambassador to Thailand, Dato
Haji Mohd Yunos and officers of the Brunei's Embassy in Bangkok. -- Courtesy
