Workshop To Develop A High Performance Team

Bandar Seri Begawan - The ‘Building High Performance Teams’ workshop entered its second day yesterday, aiming to develop leaders who can address complex challenges of the 21st century.

The workshop - which concludes today - is organised by the Brunei Darussalam Aids Council and is being held at D'Anggrek.

The three-day event - which draws the participation of 33 individuals aged between 16 to 24 years - enhances participants' management skills, knowledge and competencies.

The workshop - managed by a team led by Saraswathy Rajagopal - focuses on refining skills that include public speaking, effective communication, nurturing trust, conflict management, negotiation, cooperation and collaboration, creativity, managing changes, crisis management, project planning and implementation, cross cultural management and leadership.

‘Stressing on the various aspects of team building in a workplace, the workshop also focuses on the need, importance and process of team building in a family and community.

Numerous activities have been lined up for the workshop participants. Among them are experimental learning and skill building workshops, which assist participants in boosting their self-confidence and productivity, hence helping to empower them in community work and enhancing their communication and interpersonal skills?

Other activities included a portrait exercise for participants to better understand themselves, problem solving and identifying the roles of youth in community building.

An evaluation of the three-day workshop will also be included, while the reference of the workshop is 'Wawasan Brunei 2035 - Brunei Darussalam Long Term Development Plan.' -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
