Tutong Women Gather To Mark Maulidur Rasul

Tutong - Approximately 1,000 women from the Tutong District congregated to celebrate Maulidur Rasul at the Community Complex's Seri Kenangan Hall.

Present as the event's guest of honour was Datin Hjh Norhayati Hj Abu Bakar, wife of the Home Affairs' Deputy Minister.

It began with a reading from the Quran by Norhafsah Pehin Khatib Hj Mustafa, followed by a speech from the event's chairperson, Ustazah Hjh Omi Kisum Hj Md Noor.

It also saw the finals of a Dzikir Syarafil Anam competition and a Tausyeh performance from the Kg Bukit Panggal Religious School that was led by Rusminah Hj Hamdan, as well as a sajak recital from Hjh Rohaidah Anizah Muhd Kamsani of the Persatu Association.

In the dzikir contest, the Tutong Religious Teachers Association won first place, with Wajihah Hospital PMMPMH Al-Muhtadee Billah and Al-Muhawwarah Penanjong Religious School coming in second and third places respectively.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of souvenirs, prizes and certificates by the guest of honour to the winners and participants. It ended with a mass Dzikir Marhaban reading. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
