Certificates For Brunei Android
Codefest Workshop Participants

Begawan - The Brunei Android Codefest workshop yesterday came
to a close with the presentation of certificates by AITIs Deputy
Chief Executive Pengiran Hj Mohd Salleh bin Pengiran Hj Aji.
The workshop was initiated by the
Authority for Info-Communication Technology Industry of Brunei
Darussalam (AITI) and supported by University Brunei Darussalam.
The workshop saw the results of
Brunei's pioneer Android developers. The attendees included a mix of
student from ITB, professional, and participants from the private
and public sectors.
"This is the first time AITI has
championed such an activity. With this sort of collaboration from UBD, AITI was able to bring this emerging technology straight into
the hands of the local developers," said AITI personnel Zeti.
In his presentation, Pengiran Izam
Ryan Bahrin touched on how the Android operating system is targeted
at smart phones. Manufactures expect to start producing these phone
in 2008, and prototypes were demonstrated in Barcelona at the 3GSM
Mobile World Congress in February.
"This operating system is supported
by the Open Handset Alliance, a multinational alliance of 34
companies, which include industry giants such as Intel, Samsung,
Motorola, HTC. LG and Google," he added.
The workshop included a session on
knowledge sharing, giving the attendees a chance to present what
they had learnt, share their experiences and promote their finished
