300 Umrah Pilgrims Return Home,
160 More Leave

Begawan - More than 300 pilgrims returned home to the
Sultanate on Sunday night, after having successfully completed their
`umrah' or mini-pilgrimage to the Holy City of Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Just hours later, another 160 pilgrims le Brunei for the Holy City
of Medina to begin their umrah as part of a travel package offered
by Darussalam Holdings.
The returning umrah pilgrims
arrived at the Brunei international Airport at 11.45pm Sunday night,
travelling on a Saudi Arabian Airlines chartered flight.
The pilgrims were welcomed on
arrival by the manager of Darussalam Holdings and their respective
families and friends.
"Thanks be to plod, the weather was
good throughout the umrah," one returning pilgrim said, adding that
the pilgrims and management also had the opportunity to visit
historical places at the Holy Cities of Mecca and Medina.
Later at 1.45am, some 160 intending
pilgrims left for Medina, using the same chartered flight.
In all, some 600 Muslims in the
Sultanate have recently performed or are currently performing the `umrah'
or minipilgrimage to the Holy City of Mecca, following the package
