Agnes Monica May Make Appearance
In Brunei
By Ignatius Stephen
Bandar Seri
Begawan - There is still some hope for Agnes Monica, the top
Indonesian singing idol, to make an appearance in Brunei.
Agnes Monica management in Jakarta
has sympathised with Aman Abadi, a local entertainment company,
which planned to bring the well-known Indonesian pop singer to the
Sultanate on March 10.
The government permit for her
performance was suddenly withdrawn on February 7 after initially
approving it on December 28, 2006.
The withdrawal caused confusion
among fans and organisers, an Aman Abadi official said.
The authorities gave no written
official reason for withdrawal, which was faxed to the Aman Abadi
office. Aman Abadi's appeal was also subsequently turned down.
However, an Aman Abadi spokesman said they still plan to lodge
another appeal in light of the understanding stance taken by the
Agnes Monica Indonesian management in Jakarta. .
Aman
Abadi said that Agnes Monica Jakarta management was more than
willing to keep the doors open for the local company to bring Agnes
Monica to Brunei as soon as possible during the coming months.
If the concert cannot be held, all
tickets will be refunded, said the spokesman.
Aman Abadi wishes to convey its
utmost and sincerest apologies to ticket holders for the unfortunate
circumstance, which is beyond their control. They also appreciate
the patience of ticket holders and are trying all they can to solve
the current snag to hold the Agnes Monica concert as early as
possible.
Aman Abadi expressed their
gratitude to members of the public for their support and
understanding.
