Sheraton Market A Big Hit Among
Bargain Hunters
By Huraizah Ahmad
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Sheraton Utama Hotel's Sunday Craft Market held last
weekend was a huge success, with participants filling up the hotel's
Mutiara Ballroom, selling bargain goods to the public between 10 am
and 4 pm.
From sequins-encrusted flip-flops to
animal-prints home decor items, the market was a true bargain hunters'
paradise.
Local crafts were among the most
popular items such as jong carat", a textile weaved in gold threads,
and coin purses made from coconut leaves.
Tasek
Brasserie's new deli counter was also introduced during the event, and
the hotel's trademark garlic bread was sold out way before the market
closed.
The Sunday Craft Market is organised
once every three months to support the local craftsmen in marketing
their goods more effectively.
The next market is expected to
be-held in May. For more information on the market, contact the
hotel's food and beverage department at 224 4272 (ext 8844 or 8841).
