Cooperatives On Study Tour To
Pontianak

Begawan - A delegation, comprising 34 leaders from 10 top
cooperatives in the country, is currently in Pontianak, Indonesia as
part of a study tour to West Kalimantan.
The trip, which ends today, is
organised by the Cooperative Division of BINA and coordinated by Teguh
Harapan Trading Company, and the team, headed by Chairman of Kg Pandan
cooperative body Hj Pungut bin Ali and accompanied by BINA official
Masri bin Haji Durahim.
On March 20, the group visited the
District Office of Pontianak where they were briefed on the current
status of cooperative and industrial development of the city by its
district officer, Dr Hj Bukhary Abdurrahman.
Later, they attended a briefing,
presented by an official from the Aloe Vera Study and Development
Centre in Siantan Hulu, in the northern region of Pontianak.
The day ended with a visit to KPN, a
micro-credit and consumer trade cooperative body of government
officials at the Governor's Office.
The following day, the delegation
visited Koperasi Kerta and observed a brief passing of the sun over
the equatorial monument before ending their day at LKM, a
micro-financial board establishment of Borneo. --
