DPMM FC Seek To Extend Winning
Form
By Alex How
Bandar Seri
Begawan – Three points is what Brunei DPMM FC head coach Ranko
Buteka will aim for when they play against Perak UPB at Perak Stadium,
Ipoh tonight at 8.45pm.
"The situation in the scoreboard is
very good for us, we have come back (from the bottom), and we must
bring back points from these away matches," said coach Ranko.
"After the three wins (against Pulau
Pinang NTFA, Johor and Kelantan), everybody thinks that we are
Manchester United, or Chelsea, and wants us to win, but no.,,
"This is the first year we played in
the Malaysia League, and this team comes from a population of 350,000
and played in the country with 20 million people, and what is behind
one game is a hard job to handle."
However, coach Ranko was pleased with
the improvement of the players both physically and mentally.
"M-League is a very strong league,
and the players are benefiting from it game to game in the league."
Coach Ranko will bring on Mathew
Mbuta - who was rested from the previous match - to this away game,
while resting Tiago Dos Santos.
"This is a different match we are
playing in Perak, where the team will come out more in attacks, and
our best chances (to win the match) will be on the counter-attack,"
said the coach.
"I need a striker who has the power
for running 90 minutes, who is faster and is good in counter-attack,
and this player is Mathew."
While coach Ranko will be emphasising
on playing good defence in this match, he also wanted the players to
play consistently throughout the match.
"Players must be in total focus in
the match for the full 90 minutes, and not just 45 minutes, in order
to get a result from the match," cautioned coach Ranko.
Brunei DPMM FC will have to watch out
Perak UPB's Peter Uademebuo, who had scored six goals in the league.
One of those came in the 1-0 win against Brunei DPMM FC at Hassanal
Bolkiah National Stadium on New Year's Day. --
