Filipina Loses Handbag To Snatcher In Dark Alley
By Rosli Abidin Yahya

Bandar Seri Begawan - A Filipina in her 30s became a victim of theft late Tuesday night after her handbag was grabbed by a man who escaped in his car.

The incident occurred in a dark street near Menglait's commercial complexes.

However, it was a vain attempt by the snatcher, as the bag did not contain any money inside except for an electronic cash card, an IC and a few personal belongings.

The woman was on her way home from work at about 10.30 pm when a man appeared out of nowhere to snatch her bag.

The victim shouted to attract public attention but the thief escaped in a waiting vehicle with its rear licence plate removed to avoid being detected.

At first, she did not want to make a police report as nothing valuable was lost.

However, she was persuaded to do so that other snatchers would be dissuaded from doing the same.

The case is currently under investigation.
