Crown Prince Visits Several Mukims
In Kampong Ayer

Begawan - His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Pengiran Muda Hj
Al-Muhtadee Billah yesterday morning visited several mukims in Kampong
Ayer.
The royal visit began at Hj Tarif
Primary School of Kg Tamoi Tengah.
Greeting the Crown Prince on arrival
was Pehin Dato Awg Hj Isa, the Minister of Home Affairs cum Special
Adviser to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei
Darussalam, and Pehin Dato Hj Dani Hj Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary at
the Prime Minister's Office.
Also present to greet HRH were
Permanent Secretaries at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dato Hj Idris
Hj Belaman and Dato Awg Hj Yussof Hj Ismail; Brunei-Muara District
Officer, Dato Hj Adnan Hj Hanafiah; and the Penghulu of Mukim Tamoi,
Pengarah Hj Awg Mokti Mohd Salleh.
At the school, the Crown Prince was
greeted by Pehin Dato Awg Hj Suyoi Hj Osman, Deputy Minister of
Education; Dato Sheikh Hj Adnan Sheikh Mohammad, Permanent Secretary
at the Ministry of Education; Cikgu Mohd Alli Sabri Hj Awg Besar,
Principal; and, staff members of the school.
HRH proceeded to the school's hall
where the penghulu of Mukim Tamoi in his welcoming speech briefed the
Crown Prince on the number of mukims in Kampong Ayer and the villages
under it.
The penghulu also briefed HRH on the
administrative aspect and facilities that the government of His
Majesty has provided for the Kampong Ayer residents and expressed his
gratitude on behalf of the residents for providing them with such
facilities for a better living as well as for HRH's visit yesterday.
The Haji Tarif Primary School, which
began its operation November 1, 1976, currently has 162 students and
21 teaching staff comprising seven male and 14 female teachers.
Amongst the facilities the school
provides include a library, computer and science laboratory, special
education room, sick bay, prayer room, canteen, school kitchen and
counselling room.
HRH toured the school and mingled
with students and staff members. He also launched the school's new web
site.
The Crown Prince later consented to
visit the residence of penghulu of Mukim Tamoi, where he witnessed a
variety of performance by villagers including traditional dances.
HRH then took a boat ride to Kg
Burong Pingai Ayer and visited a traditional cloth weaving enterprise
owned by a villager, Dyg Hjh Aidah Pengarah Dato Paduka Hj Othman.
The Crown Prince later visited the
residence of Pengarah Awg Hj Abdullah Sunny Hj Bakar, Penghulu of
Mukim Burung Pingai Ayer.
HRH then went to Kg Peramu and
visited the Pengiran Anak Puteri Besar Primary School before visiting
the residence of Pengarah Awg Hj Ismit Pengarah Mukim Hj Naim,
Penghulu of Mukim Peramu.
The Pengiran Anak Puteri Besar
Primary School was formerly known as Kg Peramu Primary School when it
began its operation in 1975 but was changed to its present name in
1978.
The school has 293 students, 24
teachers, 11 religious teachers and 10 administrative staff.
A computer room, sick bay, dental
clinic and prayer rooms are amongst the facilities available in the
school that is being managed by Principal Cikgu Hjh Kamariah Ibrahim.
HRH then visited the residence of
Acting Penghulu of Mukim Saba, who is also the Village Head for Kg
Saba Tengah and Saba Ujong, Awg Hj Ibrahim Hj Besar.
The Crown Prince also visited a Mini
Museum owned by Awg Hj Mahmud Mohamad, where he took a closer look at
the various displays showcasing traditional Bruneian wedding
accessories, old coins and antiques.
HRH then dropped by at the Kampong
Ayer Police Station and viewed a mini exhibition and armory. The Crown
Prince also took a look at the method to check fingerprints.
Next on the itinerary was a visit to
the residence of Pengarah Awg Hj Kapitan Pengarah Hj Basi, Kg Setia
`A' Village Head, followed by the residence of Pateh Dato Paduka Awg
Hj Masni Ismail, Penghulu of Mukim Sungai Kebun.
HRH later visited the Perusahaan
Memburis Perahu of Kg Setia `A', which is famous for making quality
boats, owned by Awg Hj Kassim Bakar.
During Crown Prince’s visit to the
Perdana Wangsa Hj Mohammad Mosque in Kg Setia, HRH performed a mass
Zohor prayer before proceeding to the Awg Semaun Secondary School of
Mukim Sg Kebun for a luncheon and get together session at the school's
hall.
HRH continued with a visit to the
Marine Fire Station. The Marine Fire Station has 82 fire personnel
working in three shifts under Acting Snr Supt Sallehuddin Hj Ibrahim,
the commanding officer.
The Crown Prince toured the
operations room, resting room and surrounding areas.
HRH also consented to watch a demo on
a search and rescue operation to find a drowned victim as well as a
Water Jet Demo used for fighting fire particularly in Kampong Ayer and
toured a mini exhibition.
The Crown Prince also visited Kg
Limbungan and Kg Sg Kedayan before concluding his visit with a mass
Asar prayer at the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the Capital.
