Upmarket Exhibition Launched At
Centrepoint

Begawan - The much-awaited Upmarket Exhibition, which is open
to the public here for three consecutive days, was officially launched
yesterday morning at the Centrepoint Hotel in Gadong.
The international event was attended
by Seri Laila Pengiring DiRaja Datin Seri Utama Dyg Hjh Rosnah Bte
Abdullah as the guest of honour.
Supported by Standard Chartered Bank,
the Upmarket Exhibition drew more than 20 participants from Europe,
Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei.
It is a showcase of a wide range of
exclusive items including leather goods, glassware, shawls, hand
painting, silverware, batik, jewellery and many others.
One of the participants told the
Bulletin that she is lucky to be able to participate in the event as
it will help to widen her business contacts with entrepreneurs from
other countries.
She said the buying power in Brunei
is encouraging and she looks forward to the near future for such an
exhibition to be held again in the country.
Also present at the ceremony
yesterday was Datin Hjh Edah Bte Hj Mohd Noor, the President of Brunei
Darussalam Aids Council.
Among other attendees were Standard
Chartered Bank platinum card holders and priority banking customers of
the bank.
According to the organisers, the
objective of the Upmarket Exhibition is to offer an accessible
platform for participating exhibitors to venture into and tap overseas
opportunities.
Upmarket
is open to aspiring merchants in Brunei who wish to explore a quality
business platform.
The highlight of the ceremony was the
presentation of souvenir to the guest of honour. Members of the public
here are welcome to visit the Upmarket Exhibition which will end
tomorrow. --
