Sultan Meets Thai General In Royal Audience

Bandar Seri Begawan - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday received in audience General Chaisit Shinawatra, Supreme Commander Royal Thai Armed Forces.

Mr Sornsilp Polteja, Thailand's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Brunei, accompanied General Chaisit during the audience held at the Istana Nurul Iman.

Also present during the audience were Pehin Dato Awg Haji Isa, Special Adviser to His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO)-cum-Minister of Home Affairs; Pehin Datu Major General Awg Hj Halbi, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF); Pehin Dato Hj Dani, Permanent Secretary at the PMO; and Pehin Datu Singamanteri Col. (L) Dato Hj Mohammad Yasmin, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence.

Thai General Ruengroj Mahasaranond, Chairman of Advisory Board; Air Chief Marshal Yoothana Vaidecha, Deputy Chief of Joint Staff; Lt. General Chayasit Linthong, Director General Directorate of Joint Intelligence; and, Colonel Krisda Norapoompipat, Thailand Defence Attache Accredited to Brunei Darussalam were also present. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
