General Chaisit Shinawatra is in the
country for a three-day official visit.
This is the Thai Supreme
Commander’s first visit since his appointment as the new Supreme
Commander of the Royal Thai Armed Forces in October 2004.
During the audience, General
Chaisit Shinawatra was accompanied by Sornsilp Polteja, Thailand's
Ambassador to Brunei.
Also present were Pehin Dato Haji
Awang Isa, Special Advisor to His Majesty at the Prime Minister's
Office and the Minister of Home Affairs; Pehin Major General Dato
Awang Haji Halbi, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces;
Pehin Dato Haji Dani, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's
Office; and, Pehin Colonel Dato Awang Haji Mohammad Yasmin,
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence.
Also at the audience were members
of the visiting delegation, including General Reungroj
Mahasaranond, Chairman of the Advisory Board; Air Chief Marshall
Yoothana Vaidecha, Deputy Chief of Joint Staff; Lieutenant General Chayasit Linthong,
Director General Directorate of Joint Intelligence; and, Colonel Krisda Norapoompipat,
Thailand Defence Attache Accredited to Brunei Darussalam.
