By James Kon

Five local bands will be battling it out for the the best band in Brunei honours at the finals of the weekly programme, BEAT 914, which is scheduled to take place on April 30 at the car park in front of the Royal Regalia in the capital.

The five bands which will be competing are Clash, Hikary 8, Possesif 79, Rentak Seroja and Sova X. The finalists were selected by fans who have been casting their votes through SMS.

In a press release, the Head of Pelangi Network has revealed that the programme has received outstanding support from the public, through constant feedback via SMS and online.

In addition, the public has also shown their support in elevating the music industry in the country, which is one of the main aims of the station.

Pelangi Network also said that the station is working on the blueprint of organising a bigger project to acknowledge high achievers amongst artistes in the country.

"The Pelangi Award" is due to be launched at the end of this year, and hoped that this will motivate artistes to work harder in producing quality music.

Moreover, the station has also lined up a few road shows throughout the year, giving artistes the chance to perform on stage in front of their supporters.

Members of the public are welcome to visit the station's website at www.914fm.cjb.net to know about the latest events.
