Secondary School PE Teachers Take Part In Course

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Physical Education Division, General Education Unit of the Ministry of Education began the third phase of a physical education course for secondary school PE teachers yesterday at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.

In his welcoming speech yesterday, Hj Abd Rahman bin PDASD Hj Kasim, the Curriculum Officer from the Ministry of Education, said the course would equip PE teachers with the necessary skills in athletics.

He explained that the Department of Curriculum Development requested assistance from the Youth and Sports Department of the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports to provide them with coaches.

Among the coaches involved in the four-day course are Mr Oleksandr Moskalenko, Jenny Yan Feng Ling, Shahjohan bin Shari, Lim Chee Wee and Nancy TeaAi Seng.

It is hoped that upon competition of the course, PE teachers would share what they have learnt with_ their colleagues in their respective schools, Hj Abd Rahman said, adding that this would help speed up the development of the nation's PE education. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
