Locals Invited To Take Photos Of Miri For Book

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei's amateur as well as professional photographers and enthusiasts are invited to participate in "Celebrating Miri as a City Photography".

Selected entries from the compilation will be used in a much-awaited book called "The Beauty of Miri".

This is a project of the Miri Civic Centre in conjunction with the Malaysian state being declared as a city. All pictures must be taken within the Miri Division and categories include scenery, landmarks, aerial images, night-shots, cityscapes, landscapes, people, inhabitants, tribes as well as cultural events.

Select any suitable category and submit entries to Sunrise Topteam Sdn Bhd at Lot 575, First Floor, North Yu Seng Road in Miri, or to Miri Municipal Council and Miri Civic Centre.

An individual can submit unlimited entries for as long as he/she sends one picture per registration form. All photographers must submit `8R'-size printouts together with the 120/135 negative.

Images captured by digital cameras will also be accepted but also require "8R" size format, together with a CD or diskette of the file.

Entry forms are now available at several photo shop outlets in the Sultanate and they must be submitted on or before April 11. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
