Bakti Lumapas Council Contributes To Tsunami Fund

Bandar Seri Begawan - A handing over ceremony for the Tsunami_ Victims Donation Fund was held by the Keringat Bakti Lumapas - Council.

The donation came from sales proceeds of the bazaar and walkathon held recently by the council's executive committee as well as generous contributions from residents in Kampong Lumapas.

The contribution totalling $2,460 was handed over to guest of honour, Awg Hj Jemat bin Hj Ampal, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, by Penghulu of Mukim Lumapas, Awang Hj Abu Bakar bin Manshor.

Prior to the handover, the final of a seven-a-side football tournament was held at the Lumapas Primary School, Brunei IV field. Prizes were presented to the winning teams by the guest-of-honour. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
