Finance Ministry Staff Trained On Fire Fighting

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ministry of Finance held a certificate presentation for officials and staff who had undergone a course in fire prevention yesterday morning.

Held at the Ministry of Finance building, the official function saw 93 officials and staff from various departments and agencies under the ministry receiving their certificates upon completing the fire prevention course.

Presenting the certificates to the recipients was Haji Ali bin Apong, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, who was also the guest of honour for the function.

Also present was Hj Johari bin Jaludin, Acting Director of the Fire Services Department.

Organised in cooperation with the Fire Services Department, the two-day course also saw 68 participants being selected for the assigned status of Floor Fire Marshals with two Senior Fire Marshals for the Ministry of Finance building.

Senior Fire Marshals and Fire Floor Marshals play an integral role in the battle against fires and fire related incidents that occur in multi-storey buildings with a large number of occupants such as the Finance Ministry building.

During the course, the participants were trained to coordinate and provide assistance in safeguarding their own safety as well as the safety of others during emergencies.
