Widow In Need Of Help

Bandar Seri Begawan - A 61-year-old widow is appealing to the public for help.
Puan Seram binti Jalil, whose husband passed away in May last year, is currently surviving on her widow's allowance of $200 a month. From that amount, $150 goes to rent leaving her with only $50 for daily necessities.

Puan Seram, who was born in Kuching but migrated to Brunei in 1984, resides in a small house in Kg Mentiri.

She has appealed for assistance from the relevant authorities, but has yet to receive any aid.

She claims to have sought help from the village head as well as family members. However, her request has been ignored.

Puan Seram has two daughters and a son, who have abandoned her. She currently relies on the goodwill of her neighbours to survive.
