Development Of Strategic Areas
Among Gov’t Priorities
Kuala Belait -
In enhancing the living standard of citizens, developments of
strategic areas in towns are priorities of His Majesty’s government
based on an increasing population.
Dato
Haji Idris bin Haji Belaman, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry
of Home Affairs, underlined this during a working visit yesterday
morning to the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board.
He said that aside from this, the
quality of public service also needs to be upgraded whereby the Kuala
Belait and Seria Municipal Board is one of the government agencies
tasked to evaluate, listen and receive complaints from the public.
As a catalyst to economic and
commercial progress of urban areas, the department has fulfilled its
mission dedicated to the administration and management of the
development and progress of Kuala Belait and Seria Towns with
excellence, he said.
Dato
Haji Idris attributed the success on the board's adherence to the
country's laws and regulations.
During the visit, the Permanent
Secretary also discussed current issues pertaining to public service
that need to be improved on.
The Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal
Board has lined up a number of projects to be implemented in the near
future as part of its efforts in developing a beautiful prosperous
towns.
Among the projects is the
construction of the Kuala Belait Multi-purpose Hall with a budget
placed at $2 million. --
