By Rol Ezam

Bandar Seri Begawan - Three unemployed local men were each fined $500 or in default one-month imprisonment by the Bandar Magistrate's Court yesterday after they pleaded guilty to stealing a motorboat and its accessories worth $7,000.

Roney bin Muhaidini and Seboy bin Hj Jali, both aged 17, and Mohammad Asrin bin Hj Sulaiman, 22, admitted to stealing one motorboat, one outboat `Yamaha' engine, one `Yamaha' fuel tank and one 'Solas' steel engine fan two years ago.

A Police Prosecuting Officer told the court that the boat was stolen from a residence at Kampong Sungai Siamas.

It was later found by the police at Si Bungor Island after the arrest of the defendants following a police report made by the owner, the prosecutor said. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
